An independent guide to clean-energy careers

Solar Career Hub is a free educational resource for anyone curious about building a career in solar and clean energy.

The clean-energy industry is growing fast and hiring hard, but good, plain information about how to actually get into it is scattered and often buried under marketing. This site exists to fix that: clear, honest guides on the roles, the training, the pay, and the realities of working in solar and the wider green economy. The federal research and workforce context behind the sector is available from the Solar Energy Technologies Office.

We're not a recruiter, an employer, a training company, or a nonprofit, and we don't take donations or sell placements. That independence is the point. It means these guides can tell you when a certification isn't worth the money, when a job might not suit you, or when a free course beats an expensive one, advice you won't always get from someone trying to sell you something.

Independent means we can be honest: about what the work is really like, what training is worth it, and who each role actually suits.

Everything here is written to help you make your own informed decision about whether, and how, to build a career in clean energy. Read what's useful, ignore what isn't, and take the path that fits you.
