About
Green Careers Texas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2016 that provides solar installation training as a pathway to living wage work for qualified, low-income individuals. Our training programs move participants along the solar career path, from classroom to hands-on, to ensure every trainee is job-ready on day one.
Green Careers Texas is proud to serve as Dallas Independent School District Career Technology Education (CTE) Industry Partners providing both onsite and offsite training for electrical students.
WHY SOLAR?
Access to employment in the solar industry sits at the crossroads of economic, racial, and environmental justice. For the past six years, the National Solar Jobs Census has reported that solar contractors consistently have trouble hiring qualified individuals for solar installations.
By building a skilled and diverse workforce, the clean energy industry creates the opportunity to adapt and evolve to continued changes. It also has the potential to reinvent itself and improve lives and livelihoods.
Exposing individuals, including women, from underrepresented backgrounds to a wide array of sustainability-focused job opportunities educates, prepares, and equips individuals with the resources and workforce development they need to find upward mobility through clean energy careers.
